Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Charlotte Hawkins ‘gags’ Brendan Cole over Shirley Ballas feud | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

The Good Morning Britain host, 42, revealed that she had “gagged” Brendan, 41, after he go into a live spat with the judging panel of their harsh criticism of their Tango last week.

She told her ITV co-stars Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard: “I warned him that he has to be quiet this weekend and not upset the judges. I have essentially gagged him.”

Her words come as fellow judge Bruno Tonioli branded Brendan “disrespectful” for answering back.

When Ben, 42, asked whether she was being judged fairly, she responded diplomatically: “That’s the challenge. We’ll have to wait to be assessed.”

This week Charlotte and Brendan will be hoping to impress Shirley, 57, and the rest of the judges with their Jive to Bruno Mars’ Marry You.

She happily said: “It’s Tigger in dance form. It’s fun. What I’m loving about this week is that you can have a smile on your face. You don’t have to do the Tango face, you don’t have to do to be seductive or anything like that.”

Charlotte went on to explain: “We are actually going to get married on the Strictly dance floor. When I say get married, we’re going to have a wedding – a Strictly wedding on the dance floor.”

The broadcaster hastily added: “I have got a husband already. He’s given me permission for me to get married for 90 seconds.”

“He’s given permission?” Ben asked, his interest suddenly sparked as he added: “Can you do that – 90 seconds to be married to someone else?”

Kate chipped in and quipped: “You’ve got a list in mind?” As Charlotte joked: “Official dispensation for 90 seconds.”

“That’s really going to help those Strictly Curse rumours,” Kate told her colleague with a laugh.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One tomorrow at 6.45pm.
