Stranger Things season 2 trailer: Friday the 13th teaser drops some big spoilers | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

In the short footage, viewers are hit with music reminiscent of the shower scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho.

A count begins as numbers flash up on the screen followed by 13 snapshots of scenes from the forthcoming run.

The brief glimpses are disturbing and one features a group of teenagers emerging from a camper van wearing scary Halloween masks.

xAnother shot reveals a group of scientists cowering in a lift as something sinister and off-screen rushes towards them at speed.

Fans also get a glimpse of Dustin Henderson (played by Gaten Matarazzo) and Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) looking down a hole with a torchlight, hinting at a portal to the Upside Down.

Meanwhile, Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) is drenched in sweat as she runs through a house – has she ended up in the Upside Down as the parallel universe starts to filter into the real world?

As the clip progresses, the montage gets even creepier as police chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is quarantined and decontaminated by figures in biohazard suits, presumably after coming back from the other universe.

Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and her new boyfriend Bob Newby (Sean Astin) makes an appearance as the store worker is frantically digging with a shovel.

Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) later covers his ears as he looks on in terror, before we’re hit with what appears to be flashback of possibly Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) mother getting tested.

As the numbers ends and music crescendos, a gravelly voiceover says: “On Friday the 13th watch the final trailer. Once will never be enough.”

The teaser concludes on the Stranger Things theme music and iconic logo.

Stranger Things will be available on Netflix on October 27.
